Sound elements definitions:
- Sound format - This is where sound is saved as a different format depending on where the sound needs to be saved/uploaded. I will need to consider the sound format when recording so that I can extract these and place them in a video so that it can be heard correctly.
- Storage - A method of saving a file in a specific area on a specific device with the capacity it is given. I will need to consider the storage when recording so that I can ensure that all the recordings are saved in a specific place so that I can place this all in one place
- Compression - Reducing sounds that are above a certain threshold. I will need to consider this when I am filming as if the files are too big, I will need to compress the files so that it can still be heard but also allow the file size to decrease.
- Size versus quality
- Lossy - This is where the file is compressed and the quality of the sound is reduced permanently due to some of the elements being eliminated.
- Lossless - This is where the file is compressed and every single piece of data is still there. This shows that there is no loss of quality from the original recording.
- Bit rates - Are a measurement of the amount of data that is processed per second.
- File size - This is showing how big the file is on any device. There a different file sizes depending on the amount of recording it has.
